Collection: Fatma Sharawy

Fatma Sharawy is a self-taught artist whose work explores the expressive potential of color and line. Fatma's artistic journey started with her BA in History from the American University in Cairo, deepening her curiosity about identity, memory, and human expression. Connecting her artistic sense and her knowledge of human history, Fatma has managed to develop a distinctive approach that merges intuition with experimentation, forming a dialogue between technique and spontaneity, where each brush stroke reveals a new layer of storytelling.

Fatma's work is a continuous exploration of faces-not just as physical forms, but vessels of emotion, experience, and untold narratives. Drawn to the interplay of color and line, Fatma uses them to disrupt and redefine familiar expressions. While history has shaped her perspective, painting has always been her way of storytelling, redefining the narrative, telling the story from a different angle, in a different language. An instinctive way of documenting the complexities of being human.
